How to choose vacuum connector for vacuum heating equipment?

    Vacuum connectors have several important technical parameters, namely, vacuum leakage rate, working temperature range, signal type and quantity, working voltage and current, etc. The characteristic of the vacuum heating equipment is that it can be heated in a vacuum environment. The process characteristics should be fully considered in the design, and the appropriate vacuum connector should be selected.

    The first step is to determine the working vacuum and leakage rate requirements. Because of the different manufacturing processes of the vacuum connectors, the selected sealing materials and structures are different, so the corresponding vacuum ranges of different vacuum connectors are different, and the final vacuum connector is selected. The vacuum sealing performance should be higher than the actual demand.

    The second is the operating temperature range and the temperature measurement program used by the vacuum heating equipment. Because the vacuum heating equipment needs to be heated in the vacuum chamber, it is necessary to select a suitable temperature control and monitoring program according to the specific heating process. Whether using thermal resistance, thermocouple or infrared temperature measurement, the probe should be installed and fixed in a suitable position in the vacuum chamber, not only to quickly reflect the temperature of the measured point, but also to prevent the probe from being damaged by excessive temperature. Some infrared probes are installed outside the vacuum and use the vacuum window to measure temperature, but this scheme has great limitations. Select the vacuum connector corresponding to the signal according to the type of temperature probe to ensure the accuracy of the temperature measurement signal. The vacuum connector is generally embedded on the wall of the vacuum chamber, and the temperature of its installation point must be considered. If the ambient temperature of the vacuum connector is too high, the sealing performance, signal or power transmission performance of the connector will be damaged.

    The working voltage and current of the vacuum heater are also very important parameters. This is related to the size and layout of the leads in the vacuum connector. The safety and thermal stability of the power supply will be fully considered when the vacuum connector is designed and manufactured. Because of the excessively high voltage or current, the insulation performance of the vacuum connector will be deteriorated or the connector itself will be overheated, which will eventually cause the entire heating system to fail to work normally.

    In order to ensure the long-term stability of the performance of the vacuum connector, in the application scenarios where the working environment is relatively special, the protection of the connector is generally designed specifically, such as cooling, heat insulation, radiation protection, and shielding.
