Vacuum chamber (vacuum container) refers to a space that can maintain a certain range of vacuum. If it cannot maintain the vacuum range, we are accustomed to call it "leak". What's wrong with the leak? Are there any leaks?
"Leakage" is absolute, and "not leaking" is relative. The concept of "leak" in vacuum leak detection is linked to the concept of maximum allowable leak rate.
For the dynamic vacuum system, as long as the balance pressure of the vacuum system can maintain the required vacuum degree, even if there are leaks at this time, we consider the system "no air leakage".
For a static vacuum system, it is required that the pressure in the system can be maintained within the allowable vacuum range within a certain time interval, and we also consider the system to be "no air leakage".
In fact, the leakage phenomenon is related to the following factors: the ultimate pressure of the vacuum pump, the effective pumping speed of the system, the total leakage rate from the outside of the system to the inside, and the leakage rate of "virtual leakage".
The so-called "virtual leakage" has many sources. For example, the outgassing from the surface of the vacuum container, the outgassing of other materials in the vacuum container, the infiltration of gas into the system through the wall of the container, and the outflow of dead space gas in the system.
